The power of Women’s Circle
Women’s Circle has been an ancient practice, which has been used by women all over the world for many thousand years. I have found something magical and very healing in this practice and love to hold these spaces myself.
In today’s world, many of us feel isolated and suffer from loneliness, depression and anxiety. Often, we feel alone with our thoughts and we might have no one to talk to. We may also feel like there is very little room for authentic expression and space for ourselves.
My intention for Women’s Circle is to bring a healing space back into women’s lives, where we can connect, share and learn from each other. Women’s circle is a concept, where women come together and create a sacred space. During the circle, each woman is encouraged to take up space and to be seen and heard. This can be a deeply healing and transformative experience. At the same time, for many this might feel scary and unusual, because a lot of us are used to give instead to receive.
Women’s circle is a perfect space to practice this duality. On the one hand, we can give to each other by actively listening to each other’s stories and holding space for one another. We can further give when we honestly speak and share our stories, because this can be truly inspiring to other women. On the other hand, we can receive by allowing ourselves to take up space, to be seen and heard.
Some of the benefits women circles can provide:
Speaking up and sharing your story / thoughts / reflections can help you to process emotions
Through self-reflection and by listening to others’ stories, we can meet new parts of ourselves
Speaking and taking up space can expand our expression
Exploring different subjects in a trauma-informed environment can help you to discover something new about your identity and emotional needs
Reflection and active sharing can increase self-awareness and foster inspiration
A safe space, where you can find community and inspiration
Being seen and heard can feel deeply healing
I facilitate all women’s circles from a holistic and trauma-informed perspective, touching upon many different subjects of life. There are open circles, which are not centered around a specific topic and circles that bring the focus on a more specific subject which we will explore. Some examples of such topics are: Relationships, The female cycle, The relationships to our body, Trauma & Symptoms, Sexuality, Dreams & Fears .. (and much more).
The women circles are designed in a way that each women is given the opportunity to speak and to share her thoughts and emotions with the group. There will be questions for reflection, poetry and some insights into IoPT (Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Theory). You are always welcome to share as much or as little as you like. It is a non-judgmental, confidential space, so that you can feel empowered to open up.
If you feel the calling, I would love to see you in one of my circles. Check out the calendar for upcoming events. The circles take place regularly each month.
Much love
Julia
