ABOUT ME

My name is Julia Eggert and I am super passionate about trauma-awareness and holistic wellbeing. I love to work with people and would like to support you on your personal journey! Originally I am from Germany, used to also live in Denmark for a while and live in Norway for many years now.

My academic background is actually in Business & Economics, but it was never what I truly wanted to do in life. Luckily, I listened to my inner voice and pursued other educations alongside my work. This also opened the door to a deep inner journey, where I was confronted with the shadows from my past. I learned that our bodies store all traumatic experiences that we have ever encountered (even if we don’t remember what happened) and that in the long run, many of us get sick or struggle in life (both psychologically and physically) due to unresolved childhood trauma. How trauma impacts us is individually different. In my case my trauma impacted me in many different ways, among other things by getting severe food allergies and different other symptoms, as well as attracting toxic relationships, over-working & being a people pleaser. In other words, I was very little connected with myself and my needs and was mostly in survival mode.

We cannot outrun our past trauma by ignoring what is hidden in our subconscious. I believe that healing starts when we become curious about ourselves, our patterns and beliefs and how this is linked to our (childhood) trauma. In this process, we become more self-aware by getting to know parts of ourselves that often have been suppressed for a long time and may have unconsciously controlled our life. We can learn how to move from self-rejection towards (more) self-acceptance, thereby we can slowly develop more compassion and understanding for ourselves and strengthen the healthy parts of our I.

This is not a straight-line journey, and we will likely meet many ups and downs along the way. Sometimes it may even feel like moving backwards for a while, it can feel challenging to trust our healing journey and be patient. From my personal journey I can share that it took many years of intense IoPT therapy to deeply explore my trauma biography and was able to heal many of my allergies & other symptoms that have impacted me for so long.

My experience has shown me that understanding and working with our trauma biography is important, but it is not everything. I find it equally important to intentionally create my life and to prioritize self-care rituals, to spend time in nature, and focus on play & laughter.

My intention for Holistic Living is to provide you with a trauma-informed space for self-exploration, healing and holistic wellbeing. I also share a lot of educational content on Instagram and dive deeper into different topics on my Blog.
